FRONT TEXT: Lumbermen's Monument
BACK TEXT: Lumberman's Monument - A 14 foot bronze monument, created by Robert Aitken in 1931, stands high above the AuSable River as a tribute to the pioneer lumbermen that worked in the majestic pine and hardwood forests that were so plentiful in the 1800's. The monument is north of Tawas City and East Tawas, and west of Oscoda.
