Description
The Mackinac Bridge spans the five miles across the Mackinac Straits. It connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan, and was first opened for business in 1957. It is currently the 5th longest suspension bridge in the world. It is most commonly viewed from the nicely manicured grounds of the Fort Michilimackinac State Park next to the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse.
